Laszlo contacted me about this very unusual packing puzzle and I was immediately intrigued. The goal, to pack three identical two-cube pairs into a sphere, seems simple. It's anything but! The sphere will only click closed if the pieces are in the exact perfect alignment, and discovering that alignment is tricky indeed. Many solutions come close but ultimately miss the mark, causing the sphere to stay partially open. Once the solution is found the sphere is tightly enclosed by the magnetic walnut cage. This puzzle is VERY unique and an interesting addition to every collection. Construction of this puzzle is outstanding, with interlocking joinery on the cage to insure longevity. Fit is extremely precise due to the nature of the puzzle and the tolerances involved. 45 copies made for sale, each signed and dated. This puzzle is shipped assembled, but with the solution concealed such that unwrapping it will scramble the pieces. |
