Ry designed this and it sat there for a while before I decided to make it. He poopoo'd it at first, saying it really wasn't that interesting...but I disagree. I think it's a neat concept, and very well concieved and executed by him. With a level 6.4 solution it's pretty fun too. A lot of the normal framed burrs are intimidatingly high level. I found this design very solveable and fun. 29 copies made for sale. Very precise fit...works perfect in my air conditioned portion of the shop, was tighter in the humidity spike we had last week. If you keep your collection in a climate controlled area you will be fine. Otherwise this puzzle may be seasonally tight. Finally a note about the "frame" wood. I found it at a local lumberyard with nails in it...was used as packaging. After I planed it I realized it was a completely new wood to me. It has the same density, grain and brittleness as wenge, but is a nice mellow reddish/blond color. A lot of searching online has convinced me it's Meranti...if any customers find out otherwise after receiving it, I'd love to know.
