COMMENTS: Fresh off the press from one of my favorite designers, Packulier is very aptly named. Tom ordered a copy of the Kim NoPack I recently finished, and was inspired by its interlocking nature. Shortly after I shipped NoPack to him, I received an email containing the Packuliar design. While I don’t want to give too much away, this puzzle further blurs the line between put together and interlocking puzzles, requiring several tricky moves before the first piece comes out. This puzzle ships unassembled, as shipping assembled would take most of the fun out of solving it.

Precision crafted from fine domestic and exotic stock, the use of mitered joinery gives this puzzle the appeal of quality craftsmanship. The box is also mitered, with subtle slipfeathers of the same species displaying lightly contrasting endgrain against the face grain of the sides. The bottom of each box is floated to accept humidity movement, and is solid exotic wood (paduak, wenge or bocote).
