| COMMENTS: | The Two By Three series was originally designed by Junichi Yananose in 1990. The concept was simple yet interesting; create a series of burr puzzles using sticks measuring two by three units in cross section. Mr. Yananose originally designed the Types I, O and L. This year Hiroshi Kaneko designed a final Type T by clever use of half notches, which is the only way to create the "T" configuration. Each puzzle is different in both design and operation, so I decided to interpret them in different yet complimentary woods. This puzzle set looks very nice together and has a wonderful range in difficulty, from a level 1 solution on the Type L to a tricky level 10 solution on the Type I. Types O and T are 6.4 and 6, respectively. Each puzzle is signed and dated. This was a limited run of 15 puzzles (of each type). |
